Abstract

This study aimed to investigate with mnemonic strategy-total physical response or keyword ? could help Mattayomsuksa six students at Det Udom School to store and recall vocabulary more effectively in the short term and the long term.
The experiment was carried out with 40 Matthayomsuksa six students at Det Udom School, Ubon Ratchathani. They were divided into two experimental groups. The first group learned vocabulary through the total physical response strategy while the second, through the keyword strategy. After the 13-hour treatment period, the long-term vocabulary retention. The finding of the study revealed that there were no significant differences between the two strategies at P>0.05. That is, both strategies were equally effective in helping the subjects learn and memorize vocabulary in both the short term and the long term.
